The Month of May is a a busy one for EAA863. Saturday, May 29th, EAA863 hosted the 5th Saturday breakfast. Every 5th Saturday EAA863 has a fly-in/drive-in breakfast event. This month, we also had special guests from the Commemorative Air Force (CAF). Despite the misting rain, and low clouds, several people came out for good food and laughs. EAA863 was able to feed over 210 people throughout the morning.
Great day with lots to take in. The morning was packed as hungry participants continued to come in. EAA863 expressed good hospitality and took on new members. New members can quickly signup with the easy to join process on the Join/Renew page. After breakfast, guests took advantage of the L-26B Aero Commander; which was parked directly outside of Hangar 2. Known as Ike’s Bird, the L-26B serves as history’s smallest Air Force One. Yes, it did carry former President Eisenhower for a period of time.
Finally, the CAF rounded out the morning with a presentation on joining the CAF. The Music City Wing is being formed. CAF prospective members can learn more at the CAF’s website: https://commemorativeairforce.org/
