October Chapter Meeting

EAA863’s October Chapter meeting was a lot of fun and the night had great weather. John T Baugh III presented on his 1976 Consolidated Aeronautics Lake, amphibious plane. John is an instructor in this aircraft and often gives rides to students “wanting to take a splash.” John has been flying since his college days and got into seaplane flying in Florida right after college. John said he enjoys seaplanes due to their rich history and unique flight characteristics. Thanks John for sharing your story and inspiring the next generation of aviators.

The most important thing about seaplane flying is that you have to know [a lot] about the seaplane you are flying.
